About Us |
THE MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE FOUNDATIONCollection of Endowment Funds. These funds are contributed by many individual citizens, corporations, other foundations, other charitable organizations, and government agencies to benefit the communities it serves. The Foundation also holds special events and utilizes other direct appeals to the community for raising funds. Management of Funds. The funds of the Foundation are managed by an incorporated community trust and a volunteer Board of Directors made up of citizens who have the fiscal responsibility for the investment of its endowment. Distribution of Funds. The funds of the Foundation are distributed in the form of grants other then the funds used for operating expenses. Initiation and Implementation of Programs. Some of the programs initiated by the foundation include: a general job bank service, internship /summer job referral program, select scholarship and referral program, and many more.
ACCOMPLISHMENTSThrough the dedication of its donors, volunteers, officers, and Board of Directors, the foundation has made available:
Ä Funds exceeding $500 thousand to assist college students through its direct and scholarship referral programs; Ä Placements of over 2000 high school and college students in summer job/internship programs; Ä The placement of over 1000 applicants in gainful employment through its General Job Referral Service; Ä Support up to ten developmental/educational programs for youth within the communities; Ä The exposure of over 10,000 citizens through its Health Awareness Program with information on important health issues to promote healthy communities;
