Five Categories of Funds (Fundraising Form)
When donors make financial gifts to the Foundation, they may contribute to any of the following funds:

General Fund - In this fund, the Foundation does not designate a specific area(s) in which it will use these monies. The Foundation has full discretion to use these monies as they determine.

"Field of Interest" Fund - This fund is created especially for people who have interests outside of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Donors may suggest the general topic of interest and stipulate that their monies go to that area. However, the Foundation will ultimately determine how to spend the monies.

Advised Fund - This is an excellent opportunity for donors to give advice as to how the Foundation will use their monies. (Ultimately, however, the Foundation will determine how to spend the monies.)

Memorial Fund - Donors can contribute to this fund in the name of a deceased loved one. This fund is especially meaningful because it becomes a living memorial to the deceased.

Educational Fund - Donors can contribute to this fund in the name of a living, deceased loved ones, or named groups. The Foundation generally uses this fund to give scholarships to needy high school and college students both locally and across the United States.
